#199- Funny Story, Doctors, Dentist & Speech, Whoo!

Okay so here's the funny story that leads into my doctors appointment.
During my senior year in high school a group of us went to Great America. It started with a sleepover, where we got NO SLEEP! We then had a blast at Great America! Well because of my no sleep, during one of the rides I fell asleep. Yeah, I really dozed off! I don't even remember getting buckled in. I got jerked around during the ride and injured my right shoulder. I then became familiar with physical therapy at the age of 17. The workers had a blast everytime I came in to the center. They thought my story was hilarious!
Throughout the years I've had to deal with my injury, hence, my recent doctors visit. I've been having some shoulder and back pain. I finally made a doctors appointment and got me some MEDS! Wow, those are a lifesaver! I picked up some motrin and flexiril. That's some good stuff! Last night I took some and within 15 minutes I couldn't feel a thing, yeah!
Let's just say I woke up feeling great and lovin' those pills! I was able to sleep great and my body feels so much better! Yeah for meds!
Okay so yesterday there were so many appointments, my docotrs appt., Mateo's dentist appt. and Tina's last (at home) speech appointment.
It was a busy and sad day. We have really enjoyed her teacher and it was hard saying goodbye. I just hope that her next teacher will be as attentive to her needs as her last.

Thanks, Mary!

Okay, so next post will be my 200th! I can't believe it. So stay tuned to my giveaway. Feel free to let others know or not (keep your chances slim for the win)!

#197- Birthday Party #1!

Well this lucky girl gets "3" parties. I did not plan it this way, just so you know. I have a party planned for saturday. It's going to be a cute little princess party. Nothing to big just a couple of friends. I just wanted to put something on for her cause she now realizes her birthday is here, party #3.
Well at my parents house we always have a birthday dinner with all of the family. It usually turns into a party, party #1.
My Mother-in-law said last week she wanted to have a "little" party at her house also, party #2, tonight.
So here are some photos from party #1!

#196-Nap, Tina, Stickers and Basketball!

So yesterday I tried to take a nap and Christina decided to decorate my leg with stickers. I didn't even know. I went out shopping twice. Then about 8pm Hubby tells me I have stickers on my leg.
"What"!
How funny and somewhat embarrising!

Also, yesterday Kenny had a deacon's basketball game (church). So we all got up at the crack of dawn, 8am (LOL) and went to watch him. He'll be playing soon again with the older boys. Here's a pic

Okay, Here's Post 195!

Know what that means? 5 more and we're gonna have a giveaway! So pay close attention for my 200th post.
Well let me tell you about our trip to Target yesterday.
We took the kids out for some shopping. One of the things we purchased was a memory card. When we got in the car, we opened it and it was a FAKE! Someone took a photo of it, placed it on plexi-glass and stuck it back in the package. Luckily we were only a block away, so we went back. I was so worried that they wouldn't believe us. Well the manager on duty was in as much shock as I was and exchanged it for us. It was just crazy though.
Really unbelievable!

My Baby, She's Growing Up!

Well in just a few hours is when I entered the hospital to give birth to my little girl 3 years ago! I was so excited to get it over and hope they didn't tell me it was a mistake and I would be taking home another boy!
A week before she came I talked my Hubby into naming her after me. Even at the hospital he asked if I was "for real"!
I knew she would be special and I wanted someone to carry on my unique name that my Mother gave me. I also love Gilmore Girls and thought if Lorelai could do it, so could I!
I really can't believe that the little baby I brought home is now "3"! She amazes me everyday. I just love watching her, I could watch her all day!
My Heavenly Father knew I would need her, so he sent me my angel on the 28th of December!
Here are some of my favorite pics, enjoy!

Happy Birthday, Baby!

Remember...

Remember my big project? Well I'm finally finished and can tell you about it. I was busy making "7" quilts! Yes, 7! There are 6 kids and I made one for my Dad, too.
Memory quilts. My Mom always wanted to make each of us a quilt, but she was too sick. My Dad and I talked and said it would be nice to get them made for Christmas for my siblings. Well I took it a step further and made my Dad and myself one also. And so you have 7 quilts!
I did have a lot of help and I just need to say Thank you to all that helped. Some ladies from church found out what I was about to attempt and they said they would help. Also I teach the 12-13 girls at church and they were more than excited to help. Here are a what a couple of them looked like.

Every quilt had 4 photos, 3 the same and one with them and my Mom.
I believe that they were well received!
Whoo, I'm tired now!

All In All...

It was a great day! I don't know why it was so easy (but it was) to get through today. I'm glad, I didn't want a rough day! I thought I would show some of the highlights of today. Sorry for all the pics!

Tina got a new bike and a couple of Dora dolls. Not to mention the disney princess stuff! She was more than happy!

Mateo got a new skateboard-ripstix. Boy, everyone had their try at it! It's a hard thing to master!

Kenny got a new board also- a LONG board! He's been waiting awhile for it, I think he's happy!
After opening up presents we ended up at Denny's for some breakfast. We figured it would be easier than cooking for 13 people! Well an hour later we got our food! You could say they were a little busy!
Then we went to the In-Laws for some more presents and dinner. Every year we have Christmas dinner at my Mother-In-Laws! Yum, great Japanese food! Christina loves rice, soup and noodles from Oba (grandma)!

We finally made it home, put everyone to bed and I'm now looking forward to NEXT YEAR! Hope your day was great!

New Ribbon, New Spot!

Okay so I finally made it to the store and bought some ribbon. It wasn't easy picking ribbon, seeing that all of them were RED! I need color!
So this is what I came home with. Now I'm not sure if it clashes? What do you think? And I know someone out there has a strong opinion, so give it to me!
sidenote: it is now on my front door, have any comments about that!

My Try At...

Okay so I decided to try and make the famous "crayon rolls". I made 4 of them for my nephews. Actually I made 5 the first was a trial run, with little errors. I didn't want to give that one away so I re-made it. I also made some bookmarks with the left over fabric. It was a lot of fun! I hope they enjoy them!
I think I'm actually getting the hang of this sewing thing! LOL!

Merry Christmas Banner

Well I've been planning on making this for awhile. I finally got to it. I wanted to help my sister-in-law with some Christmas decorations (newlyweds) so I got this ideas from a friend. It's so easy and pretty cheap to make. It's on my tree for now until I find it a permanent place. The picture doesn't do it justice! I think it has too much red so I'm going to go find a ribbon with more colors. What do you think?

Tamale Pie

Here's a new recipe I tried.

Tamale Pie

1 lbs beef
1 onion
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 can of corn, undrained
1 cup of sour cream
1 can of olives
1 cup of corn meal
1 tbl sp chili powder
1tsp cumin
salt to taste
monterey jack cheese

Brown beef and onion in skillet, drain. Add tomatoes, corn w/ liquid, sour cream,
corn meal, olives and seasonings. Stir until well mixed. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and serve.
You can serve with spanish rice, shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes made a nice garnish. The boys also ate it with chips, like a dip, yum!
sidenote: Hubby said it looked like mush but tasted good!

Forgetful 11 year old

Well this is what happens when you ask an 11 yr. old to do the dishes. I've never made the kids fill the dishes because of this! Well with more practice they'll get better and I was sure glad to get a break.

Here's how Mateo and Christina stayed busy last night while I was sewing.
Mateo: Do you want me to make you a puzzle?
Tina: yeah!
Mateo: Stop taking pieces! Stop breaking it! Get off of the puzzle!

I think it was more fun for her to break it up, but it finally got done.

So here are some potholders I made for a Christmas gift. Thank you Shaina for the idea. They were real easy and fun to make! Wait till you see my next project!

I know, I know...

Well I have so much to post about but just no time. I've been so busy hosting(family), sewing, and reading.
I finally did it! I finished Twilight! It took me a week. Now I'm on to the second book. It's so good! I can't stop reading. My son is just finished the 3rd. I'm jealous! Now I need to take him to see the movie. Not complaining. I don't mind seeing it for a 3rd time! Did I already tell you how my hubby took me to see it again?
This is such a good read!
I have pics to post soon of Thanksgiving. Stay tuned!

Well the day is finally here! I made 5 pies last night (with help) and the rolls are rising (need to put them in the oven). Here are some pics of the pie making. My brother knows my Mom's secret so he was by my side. He also taught my kids how to slap flour around. Thanks, bro!
